Below are my top ten reasons why we are  crushing Mrs Khumalo.

1. She Was crowned Miss South Africa in 1994 and is the Second Black Woman to win the formerly all white national Beauty Pageants.

2. She became the Beauty Editor for Drum Magazine during her reign

3. She is Co founder and Executive Chairperson of Tswelopele Productions which produces shows like Top Billing, Top Travel, Afternoon Express and many more.

4. Basetsana sits on a number of Boards which include the Nelson Mandela Institute & LoveLife.

5. Has had a bi-annually Mentorship Program where she and various notable guest speakers spend a day with fifty young people sharing experiences insight and knowledge from various industries to help them get started in their working careers.

6. Is the executive chairman & CEO of Basetsana Woman Investment Holdings

7. A director of Uzazile Investments, a woman owned and listed coal mining company

8. A co founder and CEO of Connect TV, which produces some of Mzantsi Magic’s popular reality show as Our Perfect Wedding, Diski Divas, Date My family, Utatakho, Please Step In and Bootcamp Mantsi.

9. In 2004, Kumalo was voted 74th on the list of 100 Greatest South Africans in 2004, the only Miss South Africa in the list.

10. A Philanthropist, together with her husband they have established the Romeo and Basetsana Kumalo Family Foundation, which focuses on the development of child headed household, and children who have been orphaned by the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
And the list goes on and on.

All of these accolades at just 42 and the cherry on top for me is that she remains humble as she said in an interview

"all of this is what I do and not who I am, at the core of my being I am just a mother and a wife, that's the most important thing”

Hows that for a burst of Inspiration !!

Look out for my second edit next week and have a great day.
