ESTEE LAUDER DAY WEAR MATTE REVIEW #hellomatte

"Goodbye shine, hello matte"

Hey Beauties

Apologies for the hiatus but today I am making a return with a requested review of the Estee Lauder Day Wear Matte!

Estee Lauder recently launched a new moisturizer that has been specifically created for the South African woman with oily skin and they gifted me a bottle to try out.

I am someone who battles oily skin and I am always looking for moisturizers that can help combat that without leaving me dry and patchy.

Day Wear Matte is an ultra light gel creme with moisture-matte technology.
It controls oil up to 8 hours and helps skin minimize visible shine all day, giving you a healthy matte finish. It also claims to reduces the look of pores. & helps resist the first signs of aging (yass).

On me the moisturizer feels very refreshing and hydrating & absorbs very quickly leaving my skin matte but still flexible.  I also love the texture of the product which is obviously non- greasy and not sticky. It also works well under my foundation that I don't even need to use a primer and it did not irritate my skin, so what ever is in there is safe for you if you are also sensitive like me.

I usually get oil breakthrough in about two hours after my skin routine but with Day Wear Matte I noticed that it took much longer  and even after I wasn't super oily I just had what I like to call a "glow". Only problem is that it doesn't have SPF so you if you are going to be exposed to the sun you will need to follow up with an SPF containing foundation.

In conclusion, if you have oily / combination skin and looking for a way to beat that 12 o'clock shine give Day Wear Matte a try you just might fall in love!!

Have a lovely day further and thanks for stopping by xxx.

PS. This product retails for R515 (30ml), R620 (50ml )and can be purchased at any Estee Lauder counter or online here

  1. this would've been great for summer hey, especially for those no makeup days where you can't be reaching into your bag to powder the nose all the time. Lord knows it get hot in those labs.
I'll be checking for this when the weather warms up and my financial situation allows
