Afternoon Tea at the Signal Restaurant (Cape Grace Hotel)
I went out for high tea with few friends and family on Saturday at a hotel on the other side of the V & A Waterfront to celebrate my birthday.
The place is lovely and elegant but I wasn't really impressed with our first waiter who tried tricking us into getting teabags instead of loose-leaf tea as stated on the menu and then proceeded to tell us that he could only brew three flavours because of the number of guests. Nice try buddy.
We would have walked out but the alternative places were all fully booked because for some reason people enjoy a high tea in cape town lol. It annoys me that you have to be assertive & Irate to get good service when it comes to some places in cape town because if you play nice they'll walk all over you. Cant we all just play nice and do what were supposed to?! ……..
posing for days lol
Anyway we had gone for the "afternoon tea" option which comes with different flavours of loose-leaf tea; three-tiered stands with all sorts of delicates including mini cakes, mousse cups, macaroons and some scones that came with jam, cream and custard. There's also some sandwich platters which is nothing to write home about. The best thing about this hight tea is that you can eat as much as you like and also the location and setting with gorgeous views on the harbour….
Overall we had a wonderful time chatting the afternoon away, then came the fun part of occasion which was a full on photo shoot lol. These are some of the pictures we took and I feel I should draw your attention to the fact that my cousin, Vuyokazi in a blue dress below finally gets to be featured on the blog hahaha.
Great stuff...i love their tea party it's one of the best compared to the few places i have been.
